In any case gray covers the majority of the headset, with your color of choice appearing only inside the earcups, plus a logo on the left headband and right ear. Selected lines only, determined by size, weight or whether delivered direct from one of our suppliers. If you really want to splurge, the Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament Headset is our pick for high-end wired headsets for its plush, pillowy fit, and the Astro Gaming A50 remains our pick for a top-of-the-line wireless model. Since it's just a typical headphone jack, you can easily plug it into a PlayStation 4 controller, an Xbox One S or X controller, a PC or Mac, the Nintendo Switch, or a mobile device. They’re accurate enough to not horribly offend audiophiles, but they’re very clearly tuned to be fun to listen to.

The in-line volume wheel has stops at min and max, but it lacks discrete points, making it a bit hard to find a specific volume setting. The opening acoustic guitar plucks have plenty of resonance, and while the highest frequencies roll off a bit, they do so above a high enough point that the strings' textures deliver a good sense of realism. The Logitech's boom mic makes your voice sound more natural and does a better job of separating it from background noise. The earcups are now two-piece constructions, with rounded, rectangular plastic rings that hold the earpads against similarly shaped backs. The earcups are quite small, though; I have small ears and I was aware that the foam was touching them, but it wasn't uncomfortable. If you're looking for a similar pair of gaming headphones that block out more background noise, check out the JBL Quantum 100.

The heavy, dubstep-like soundtrack of Tekken 7 on PC sounds powerful and oppressive through the A10, with the deep bass drops getting almost subwoofer-like force at high volume levels. On Teamspeak and Discord, my friends could hear me fine, but there were complaints about other noises coming through from the background, such as keyboard typing and even computer fans ramping up. The Astro perform more consistently across different users, but their sound signature isn't as well-balanced. The earcups' grille cloth, some piping on the boom mic, and a small A10 logo on the left side of the headband provide the only color for the headset. It sits further away from your mouth than the previous generation's, but still offers a decent overall performance, so your voice sounds clear, even if you're talking in a moderately noisy environment like a busy office.

While both headphones are comfortable, the Corsair are wireless gaming headphones with low wireless latency, and they support Dolby 7. Buckle down for all-night gaming sessions thanks to its ergonomic construction, with closed-back design, a headband that may just outlast your old favourite headset. If you have a non-BNPL balance, you will still need to make at least your minimum payment as shown on your statement.

However, if you have an older Xbox One gamepad without the headphone port, you'll need either Astro's Mixmp M60 attachment or Microsoft's headset adapter. Clamping force is slightly higher than average, but the headband is metal-reinforced so you could probably bend it out a bit if you want. While both headphones are comfortable and well-built, the HyperX are wireless headphones with low wireless latency, have a better overall mic performance, and have a virtual soundstage feature. For years, it was one of the few companies focused on gaming headsets—and as a result, it got away with charging a premium. They're big, bulky, and don't fold into a more compact format, but this is expected since they're meant to be used at your desk or sofa rather than around town. You don't get a very good sense of directional imaging with this headset, which can offer a bit of benefit when playing first-person games. You might prefer the Turtle Beach if you like a really bassy sound, since they have an always-on 'Bass-Boost' feature and add a lot of extra rumble and punch into your audio. It is fully functional and has been professionally refurbished, inspected, tested and cleaned to an excellent condition. The A10’s ears are small and a bit claustrophobic, thinly padded, and with a tendency to hold in heat. I’ve been PCMag’s home entertainment expert for over 10 years, covering both TVs and everything you might want to connect to them.
